Notre Dame Vision 2017

After boarding our train in South Bend, Indiana at Midnight on July 16th, Lily, Kaitlyn, Matt, Sydney, Darlene, Ed, David, Kris and Jim arrived safely back in Syracuse.  Our group from St. Augustine’s traveled with three students from St. Vincent de Paul Parish, one student from St. Mary’s, one student from Holy Family, and one student from Our Lady of Lourdes.  While at the conference at Notre Dame, we met students and those in ministry from Catholic parishes throughout the United States.  We shared morning prayer, gathered at Mass, spent time studying Scripture and Catholic tradition, celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sang and even danced!  In the next few weeks, you’ll find some words of refection by our Notre Dame Vision/CYM participants on how we were reminded to be open, to be present, to be still, and to believe that God is real.

The group of teens and adults who visited the University of Notre Dame stand in front of the Hesburgh Library on the last day of their trip. This year’s theme was “The Word Made Flesh.” Both teens and adults were asked to consider that concept and become more aware of the unconditional love our God has for each of us.

The trip is always special but this year’s group made it even more special by their energy and ability to become fully involved in the program. Great week, great program, wonderful participants.
